1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Metari's metadata governance platform, website, APIs, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Services

Metari provides a metadata governance platform that enables organizations to discover, classify, and protect their data assets. Our Services include:

  • METARI MaaS: Metadata discovery, quality scoring, and AI passport registry.
  • METASHIELD: Policy enforcement, access control, and compliance management.
  • METAWATCH: Analytics, performance monitoring, and impact analysis.

3. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
  • One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Services
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Services
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Services
  • Use the Services to transmit malicious code or harmful content
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Services without our written consent
  • Use automated means to access the Services beyond the provided APIs

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You retain all rights to your data. By using the Services, you grant us a limited license to process your metadata solely to provide and improve the Services.

We do not access the underlying data in your connected sources. Our platform only processes structural metadata (table names, column names, data types, and schema information).

6. Intellectual Property

The Services, including all content, features, and functionality, are owned by Metari and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your use of the Services does not grant you ownership of any intellectual property rights in the Services or content.

7. Payment Terms

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.
  • All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in these Terms.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days advance notice.
  • Failure to pay may result in suspension or termination of your account.

8. Service Level Agreement

For paid plans, we commit to 99.9% uptime, measured monthly, excluding scheduled maintenance. Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated at least 48 hours in advance.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Metari shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the Services.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will immediately cease. We will provide you with a reasonable period to export your data before permanent deletion.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes via email or through the Services. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
